Sand blasting is a cleaning technique of metallic surfaces from rust, resins, paints, grease and other contaminants by blasting sand with high pressure (7-9 Bar). Also it is one of the methods used to prepare a surface for painting. Sand blasting has different qualities (Sa1, Sa2, Sa3, Sa4 according to Swedish standards) with respective results varying from simple “brushed” to white metallic surface finish.
